Together, railings
and balusters provide architectual definition to your staircase, in addition to their obvious functional roles. From
a design standpoint, the two parts are related to the extent that the baluster's top end must conform to the hole or groove
in the underside of the railing. Likewise the bottom end of the baluster must fit with the tread design.
